BAD NEWS For Elon Musk: NASA Chooses Blue Origin To Launch Mission
Bezos outpaces Musk to Mars, as NASA selects Blue Origin to launch the mission. Let’s find out all the details here. So, stay tuned!

Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket will carry two scientific spacecraft to Mars in August 2024, NASA announced on Wednesday.
Musk’s SpaceX firm was originally scheduled to launch the NASA cargo on a Falcon Heavy rocket in October of this year, accompanying NASA’s Psyche mission, which was destined for an asteroid.
But because the Falcon Heavy would not place the other craft on the correct trajectory to place them into Mars’ orbit, the space agency decided to withdraw them from the launch.
In what SpaceX described as a “rapid unscheduled disassembly,” the company’s next-generation Starship Rocket, the largest ever constructed, exploded before reaching its target altitude during last week’s second-ever test flight.
The new timeframe was announced shortly after Musk’s Starship rocket, which he plans to use to transport crews to the moon and eventually Mars, exploded during a second launch attempt.
NASA’s Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorer (ESCAPADE) mission will be carried out by an identical pair of spacecraft that will ride along with the unproven Blue Origin New Glenn rocket. The purpose of these spacecraft is to research the effects of solar winds on the planet’s magnetosphere.
This launch is a component of NASA’s larger initiative to engage commercial contractors for more affordable space travel to Mars.
NASA officials stated in a statement regarding ESCAPADE that “by using a lower level of mission assurance and commercial best practices for launching rockets, these highly flexible contracts help broaden access to space through lower launch costs.”
The US space agency has a practice of traveling by our neighboring planet to drop off rovers, landers, and orbiters. The Perseverance rover and the Ingenuity helicopter were the most recent examples, sent off in 2020.
With each business winning separate multibillion-dollar contracts with NASA to go to the moon earlier this year, Musk and Bezos’ billionaire space race has now entered its final round. NASA’s decision concerns the moon landing.
In an ESCAPADE announcement, NASA stated that “three instruments will be carried by each satellite: a Langmuir probe to measure solar extreme ultraviolet flux and plasma density, an electrostatic analyzer to measure ions and electrons, and a magnetometer to measure magnetic field.”
Bezos went into space in 2021 and stayed for five minutes in his own Blue Origin rocket.
The $3.4 billion contract to construct a manned lunar lander was awarded to Bezos’ Blue Origin by NASA in May 2023.
More of its own funds would be invested, the business promised. The space sector was generally seen as benefiting from Blue’s grant, but government-backed projects can gain a number of advantages from this lunar-scale power struggle.
We now proceed to make a comparison of these two futuristic rockets. These are the gigantic rockets known as New Glenn and Starship, which were constructed by renowned commercial aerospace firms Blue Origin and SpaceX.
