Elon Musk, a tech tycoon, futurist, and activist, made a stirring appeal for the use of fossil fuels back in 2016. When it comes to climate change, the globe is divided. There is widespread agreement that action must be taken to protect the planet, but few nations are eager to commit to large reductions in their use of fossil fuels.
In actuality, greenhouse gas emissions are increasing more quickly than ever.
Elon Musk faced this conundrum during the World Energy Innovation Forum.
In addition to providing the majority of the world’s electricity, heating, and cooling, fossil fuels also provide the bulk of the world’s transportation and heating and cooling systems. Even though a few nations have been able to break the link, the global economy is still closely tied to fossil fuels.

In addition to this approach, which Musk acknowledges is controversial politically in the US, he advocated for more extensive education on energy-related problems.
The future of the globe “is pretty scary,” he continued. “We need to make an appeal to the people and educate them so that they will sort of revolt against this and combat the vast and relentless propaganda of the fossil fuel industry.”
Exxon, an oil firm, has supported scientific denialists to sway public opinion while knowing about the dangers of climate change for decades.
Through lobbying activities conducted globally, the oil and coal industry’s giants establish advantageous economic positions and solidify their power to wreak environmental havoc. This misinformation campaign culminates in lobbying efforts across the globe.
Countries must stop providing subsidies to the fossil fuel business and drastically reduce all upcoming fossil fuel endeavors if they want to effectively combat climate change in the next years.
The most comprehensive climate accord in history, known as COP21, was recently ratified by nations. The greatest emitters in the world, including the US, China, Europe, India, etc., have now reached a consensus on the necessity of addressing climate change.
Although the strategy is not as audacious as it may be, it is a significant start in the right direction. Countries are anticipated to step up their promises as 2030 draws closer, and if everything goes according to plan, emissions will peak and begin to decline in the years to follow.
