Syrah Resources Limited is an Australia-based industrial minerals and technology company. From its Balama Graphite Operation in Mozambique, the company produces natural graphite products. Sales of natural graphite make up its primary source of revenue, along with ongoing development of logistics, sales, and marketing agreements with specific clients.
The Company segment includes Balama and Vidalia. Its Balama segment is engaged in the production, distribution, and sale of natural flake graphite from the Balama Graphite Operation in Mozambique. Its Vidalia segment is engaged in the assessment and development of downstream Vidalia active anode material (AAM) opportunities for natural flake graphite, including the development of a processing facility in the United States of America (USA), potential customer engagement, and research and development.

The Biden administration announced on Monday that it will start a $3.1 billion plan to increase domestic battery production as part of a larger effort to transition the nation away from gas-powered cars and toward electric vehicles. The transportation sector must be electrified in order to reduce climate change caused by humans.
Shares of the company, which is a supplier to Tesla Inc, rose more than 15% on the Australian Stock Exchange on Tuesday following the news. With about one-third of all annual emissions, the transportation sector is one of the major producers of greenhouse gas emissions in the US.
