Elon Musk REVEALS Major Starship UPGRADES For The Next Flight Attempt!
In preparation for an imminent second flight, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, is making some upgrades to its Starship megarocket.
In addition to preventing the rocket from exploding up, it is hoped that these improvements will prevent the area from being blanketed in debris, as they did the last time.

Now that SpaceX is prepared for a second launch, CEO Elon Musk has forecast that it may take place by the end of August.
Here are two significant modifications the company made to the Starship launch system and why it believes they will prevent the rocket from exploding.
The spaceship’s plasma engines will blast the booster away.
A booster dubbed “Super Heavy” and the actual spaceship, which is called Starship and sits on top of the booster, make up the two main components of Starship when it is fully integrated.
The rocket was put into self-destruct mid-flight during SpaceX’s first fully integrated launch for Starship in April, so it didn’t go as smoothly as expected.
When Starship was launched for the first time, it was precisely that link that broke, preventing the rocket from separating from its booster and guaranteeing its demise over the Gulf of Mexico.
SpaceX revealed its most recent upgrade to the booster in a message on X Friday.
The rocket and the booster will now be separated by Starship using a technique known as “hot staging,” according to the report. This indicates that the spacecraft’s engines will “ignite to push the ship away from the booster,” according to SpaceX.
Due to this modification to the launch, SpaceX was forced to include a “vented interstage and heat shield” to safeguard the booster.
According to Space.com, during a discussion on X on June 24, Musk said to writer Ashlee Vance, “The superhot plasma from the upper-stage engines has gotta go somewhere.
The rocket’s upper stage’s plume can “go through the sort of vented extension of the booster and not just blow itself up,” according to Musk, who claimed that the addition is “almost all vents.”
A new launchpad with a water-drenched “flame deflector”
Likewise SpaceX has been striving to strengthen the mount on its launchpad. In order to do this, it is implementing a “water deluge system” to fend off the high heat and force that previously blew the mount.
According to Space.com, when speaking to Vance about the system, Musk referred it to a “giant upside-down shower head.”
Musk has also previously stated that 35,300 cubic feet of “high-strength concrete” will be used by SpaceX to strengthen the mount.
The system seeks to protect the mount from harm. Local environmental organizations in Boca Chica, Texas, were outraged by the rocket’s April launch after it blasted through its launchpad and sent concrete and other debris flying around the launch site. They sued the Federal Aviation Administration for their role in the launch’s oversight.
