Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, increased security at his father Errol Musk’s home in the Western Cape, South Africa, by hiring roughly 100 new bodyguards who are heavily armed to watch the area around-the-clock out of concern that his father would be in danger of being kidnapped. The home of the tech entrepreneur already has a high-profile security system with cutting-edge video surveillance cameras and electrified fencing since there have been numerous break-ins there in the past. According to Musk’s father, Errol, who was quoted by the British daily Sun, Errol admitted that his home has been broken into four times just in the past year alone, and added that there is a real possibility of anything awful happening or perhaps being shot.
The security system was upgraded to “first class” with roughly 100 bodyguards at a cost of billions of dollars by Musk to increase the safety of his father. Errol Musk, Musk’s father and a retired engineer, stated his son increased security at their South African house due to worries about being abducted. Errol is 76 years old. He emphasized that Elon was only a young toddler when he killed three armed attackers in 1998. Errol remarked, “If someone wanted to kill me, it wouldn’t be that difficult, so hopefully they don’t.”
Errol emphasized, “[Elon] Musk determined that I need protection as well after the recent threats against him. If they abduct one of us, it will be the fastest $20 million anybody’s ever made in their life.”
In order to provide for his family, Elon Musk has been under continual pressure. Musk’s home in Langebaan, some 90 miles north of Cape Town, was visited by some of the workers who were installing surveillance equipment that could be monitored from Musk’s phone. As violence has recently increased in both Johannesburg and Pretoria, Errol noticed that he was settling into life in the fortified home that was barred and replete with security features. According to Errol, who also stressed that his son is “a bit nave about the enemies he’s making, especially with the Twitter Files,” Musk forked up an estimated $14.6 thousand more than the most effective security system placed in his home.
Musk’s father highlighted that he was worried about his wealthy son, saying, “I’m not terrified, but I’m extremely afraid that anything will happen to Elon even though he is surrounded by roughly 100 bodyguards.”
Recall that sometime on December, Musk blamed a Twitter account for an alleged stalker.
Elon Musk blamed a Twitter account that followed his flight for an incident between a member of his security team and an alleged stalker that occurred at a service station 26 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and 23 hours after the @ElonJet account had last found the jet.
