On November 30, Elon Musk’s much-awaited Cybertruck was finally seen during Tesla’s live-streamed delivery event.

ELON Musk, the CEO of Tesla, unveiled a brand-new electric vehicle (EV) in November 2019 on a stage in California: the Cybertruck. It is an angular pickup with a cyberpunk aesthetic and bodywork composed of brushed stainless steel and “unbreakable” glass. The events that followed have become legendary in the field of public relations. The demo truck’s windows shattered twice in a show of strength, right in front of the cameras. Musk joked after cursing, saying, “There’s room for improvement.” That spontaneous comment might have served as a fitting mantra for the whole undertaking.
Of course, this challenging start hasn’t stopped Tesla’s avid supporters. In the intervening period, an estimated 1.8 million consumers have paid $100 deposits to secure a Cybertruck. The vehicle was slated to start rolling off assembly lines in 2021. However, the vehicles have still not been delivered after two years, and for the majority of consumers, they won’t be until 2025 at the earliest.
The German newspaper Handelsblatt started publishing stories on the “Tesla Files” in May. These were thousands of internal documents that a whistleblower had given the publication access to. An engineering report that may provide some explanation for the vehicle’s prolonged introduction to the market was found among those documents. It demonstrates that the Cybertruck was still having some fundamental issues with its handling, brakes, body sealing, suspension, and noise levels.
That same day, Musk tweeted, “Been driving latest Cybertruck prototype around Giga, Texas.” “It’s awesome!”
The Cybertruck is not doomed by the report’s contents. The company has substantial financial resources, which will enable it to address the concerns outlined in the report, according to a professional automotive engineer who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid backlash from Tesla enthusiasts. And he said, “I’m shocked, to be honest. Almost every car has these traditional mechanical automotive engineering problems. That they would be having such difficulty with the necessities astounds me.
Since 2020, Tesla has not introduced a new model for consumers, and many believe that it is lagging behind other manufacturers who have increased their EV development in response to the rising demand. The majority of automakers update their lineups every three to five years; Tesla’s Model S is currently over a decade old. Audi, on the other hand, plans to introduce over 20 new models by 2026.
