Elon Musk UNVEILS Giant Tesla Batteries That Powers 60k Homes!
Elon Musk has recently launched a new Megapack battery capable of powering 60,000 homes.

In today’s video, we will find out about Musk’s recent release of a new Tesla battery pack capable of powering 60,000 homes.
We all know about Elon Musk’s corporate sustainability efforts through his various multi-billion-dollar ventures like Tesla and SolarCity (later Tesla Energy). The billionaire has been instrumental in pushing for the electrification of cars at policy level in just the United States, but in most of the developed countries as well as China.
Musk’s Sustainable Power
Beginning with his acquisition of Tesla in 2004, Musk has been adamant in his quest to popularize the use of electric cars. Alongside founders Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, the over-arching goal of Tesla was to build “a car manufacturer that is also a technology company”, with its core technologies being “the battery, the computer software, and the proprietary motor,” according to Eberhard.
The first project that Musk and his fledgling team focused on was developing a fully electric premium sports car aimed at early adopters. Later on, they would move on to more mainstream vehicles like sedans and SUVs.
Prototypes for the model, later to be dubbed the Tesla Roadster, were first unveiled in July 2006. By 2008, Tesla began full-scale production of the Roadster. By January of 2009, Tesla raised $187 million in total (with $70 million of that amount coming directly from Musk) having already delivered 147 cars.
After the launch of the Roadster, the company would go on to produce more mainstream and high-selling cars like the Model S luxury sedan, the Model X luxury SUV, the Model 3 affordable sedan and the Model Y affordable crossover SUV.
Tesla’s upcoming product pipeline includes the long-delayed Cybertruck, a second-generation Tesla Roadster, the Semi (electric class 8 cargo truck) and the Cyberquad (an electric-powered ATV).
The company has had to expand their production facilities multiple times due to ramping up of production. Beginning in May 2010 when the company purchased a Fremont, California factory previously owned by Toyota, the company has gradually increased both its production and model lineup. In 2019, Tesla launched its first ever “Gigafactory” in Shanghai, China.
It was the first ever fully foreign owned factory in the country and was also completed in less than 6 months. One year later, Tesla began construction of two more factories – one in Texas, USA and another in Berlin, Germany. Both of the latter facilities were successfully launched in early 2022.
With the success of Tesla’s car batteries, Musk shifted his mind to the provision of batteries intended for energy storage. With that in mind, in 2016, the billionaire acquired the publicly traded solar energy company Solar City for approximately $2.6 billion – whose founders incidentally were Musk’s cousins, being brothers Peter and Lyndon Rive.
SolarCity was initially founded by the South African brothers in July 2006. The company sold and installed solar energy generation systems in addition to other ancillary products and services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
